Mole Assessment

If you’re worried about any moles or skin lesions, you can easily book an appointment with one of our specialist dermatologists. The assessment will take up to 30 minutes and includes a thorough examination of any moles or skin lesions. No referral from your GP is necessary, so you can schedule a consultation at your convenience.

Moles are common—most people have around 30-40 on their body and face. In most cases, moles are harmless, but it’s important to get them checked if you notice any changes in appearance, as this could signal melanoma or other types of skin cancer. Be especially cautious if the mole changes in shape, size, or colour, or if it begins to itch, crust, ulcerate, or bleed.

If you’re self-conscious about the appearance of your moles, our dermatologists can discuss removal options with you. Regardless of the removal method, the sample will be sent to a lab for histopathology testing to check for any signs of disease.

While most moles are brown, they can also appear in shades of tan, black, or other colours. They’re typically oval or round, and usually smaller than 6 millimetres (about 1/4 inch) in diameter. Moles can form anywhere on your body, including the scalp, ears, eyes, lips, armpits, palms, and even the soles of your feet.
