ABOUT
THE TREATMENT

What is labiaplasty?

Such women report pinching or chafing when sitting or walking, hindrance during intercourse, and difficulty maintaining hygiene during menses or after defecation. Labiaplasty is one of the most common genital rejuvenation procedures performed. The procedure involves cutting away the excess tissue and closing the incision. The aim of the surgery is to reduce the labia minora and not to totally remove them.

Who will benefit from labiaplasty?

Adult women who are physically uncomfortable or self-conscious due to the size or appearance of their labia minora can be good candidates. Most healthy non-smokers and non-diabetics can have this surgery. If you want to reduce an enlarged labia, remove skin with pigmentation issues, or fix asymmetry, this procedure might be a good choice for you.

Labiaplasty Surgeons

Our team will consult you on multiple occasions prior to your surgery or treatment. They will also check on your recovery progress following your surgery in the follow-up consultations to ensure we achieve optimum results.

Plan for an initial recovery period of 3 to 7 days—and possibly longer, depending on which technique was used and if you had multiple procedures done at one time. You can expect swelling and bruising, discomfort and pain and it will be managed through medication.

Temporary numbness of the labia (and sometimes the surrounding area) is common after this surgery. The nerves that provide sensation take several days—sometimes weeks—to return to normal.

Labiaplasty results are considered permanent, but your body will continue to change as you age. You can have a baby after labia reduction, though childbirth can stretch the labial tissues or change their appearance.
